Shaquille O'Neal is revealing why he'll let his daughters live at home for far longer than his sons.

On Tuesday's episode of The Pivot Podcast, the former NBA star, 50, shares that his three daughters can "stay as long as [they] want" while his three sons "got to go" when they turn 18.

O'Neal and his ex-wife Shaunie O'Neal share four kids together — Shareef, Amirah, Shaqir and Me'arah — while Shaunie has a son, Myles, from a previous relationship, and O'Neal has a daughter, Taahirah, with his former girlfriend, Arnetta Yardbourgh.

"I like my girls a little bit better," O'Neal admits. "Because as a man you have to protect, provide and love your woman."

"I trust them more because they're more sensitive, they're more caring and they're thinkers," he adds of his daughters. "You know how boys are. My boys, you bring something in front of them and they're gone."
Athletes aren’t meant to be viewed as “thinkers”.
Rich? Yes
good role models? Eh

Shaq hates BM. I am not surprised by his comments.

Shaq: 'When I Get Stopped by the Cops, I'm Not Worried' Because 'I Show Respect'

A real man should wanna be out of the house by 18. Make your own way. Real parents won't let u fail but they'll let u take a few L's. Let them get the L's out of the way before you're too old or actually dead and can't help them.

women are a different story, they'll never actually hit rock bottom unless they're physically repulsive. So u wanna be around to influence their choice in a partner to make sure they're ok later in life, vs getting involved and potentially having children with some bum and running their prime

It’s not like they’re getting kicked out onto the street.

:mjlol:
Exactly

I was out the house at 17. I moved back after military and paid her mortgage

I agree with Shaq. Unless my daughters are major problems, I wouldn’t mind them staying home. My sons, I would expect them to have themselves situated or if I can help, have them move on and experience life and become independent men.

There are exceptions though. My wife would probably want the boys to stay home and vice versa.

But with the way the economy is now, if I was situated with kids I would want them close. Hell, stay home save up some money for your own place, business, etc.

That's normal. As a Man you're supposed to provide, be head of a family. Be a leader.
You can't do it by staying lazy at Dad's home.

Everyone against it is abnormal and contribute to the lost generation of incels & boss bytch.

I left home (with support) across the Atlantic Ocean at 18.
All my friends who stayed with their parent past 22 are still living with them pushing 40 and are single, miserable and broke.

U.S seems to be the only culture where that kicking kids out at 18 comes off as normal

so many other cultures you stay til you’re married and they are able to stack paper and cop cribs cash
nikkas want to be pro black family units but kick kids out as soon as they white government daddy says they are not responsible lol.

Overall it's understandable.

That "I like my girls a little better" part might come back to haunt him one day though.
