If he's not a $B it's probably due to the # of employees he has to pay. Restaurant franchises are break-even endeavors at best which is why you see so many owners working in them.

All will be for naught if it only lasts 2-3 generations. Descendants don't value the money they don't earn. No hate, but there has to be more to a legacy than a bunch of revenue-earning businesses that only serve to extract wealth from others.
