This. Sharebeast was dope but the idea that file sharing can be shut down in 2015 is laughable. It was fukking laughable almost a decade ago. This train that started with Napster has left that station and it ain't going back. The industry needs to adapt and just deal with the fact that this is in play. Find another way to profit. I mean I guess it's not a bad idea to shut these sites down. But like you said, more and more will just pop up.

No it's not laughable, they could shut it all down whenever they wanted if congress gave them the ok. NIccas thinking the Net is some lawless wasteland have never been on the net in an eastern country. The government could shut down 90% of file trading in a day if the powers that be made that decision. They'd have to block/seize what ? maybe 20 or so domains and the whole system would grind to a halt.

Talking about hydra, if they decided to block access to domains, they could cut them off as fast as you found out about it. You can't even keep public links up for more than an hour anymore, and that's private companies having them taken down. Don't get too cocky.

Fair enough. Yeah, my comment was supposed on the laws staying as they are now. I realize things could change in that regard. I hope they won't, but you never know.

as long as there is network connectivity, sharing will commence. the less savvy user adapts or like today would use the simplest methods/tools provided by more savvy users.

this shyt won't EVER stop unless wide area networks are for some reason banned for use outside of corporate, educational and government institutions.
