The truth, as I always repeat on here, is that it does matter- much more than Black people's opinions on hip-hop. Sociologically, hip-hop is not Black music anymore except on the surface level- the fact that the artists themselves are Black. The record labels' management, the producers, and the audience are mostly white. It's not catered to Black people. White people's opinions are much more influential when it comes to deciding the future of the music. It's just like basketball, which is only a Black sport when you look at the players.
