I heard the same thing from several fighters. You hit much harder with a 4/6 oz mma glove or even a 8/10 oz boxing glove. It’s concussive and will knock you out.

This is true. It's the exact same idea as helmet v no helmet. Wearing a helmet is worse for you long-term because you absorb more damage and your brain gets rocked around more.
