Cop was on bullshyt. He explained that the cab took his bags that were already on the curb and put them into his car and drove off. Thats fukking theft so its not a civil issue. I had a cab try to do that when I first moved to Chicago. Im at Ohare, dont know my way around like that so I catch a cab into the city. Before I got in, I asked the cabbie, "Do you take credit cards? I dont have enough cash fare to get to Ohio and Lakeshore Dr." He says he does. We pull up and the dude like, "Thats $50 (or something)" I hand him my card and he says, "Cash only, no card". Im like wtf man I told you I didnt have this fare in cash and I explicitly asked you if you took credit cards and you said yes. Anyway, dude still acting like he aint say that shyt. So I say "Look man, this is my building. Theres a Treasure Island on the ground floor, I'll hop out, leave my bags so you know Im not skipping fare, run to the ATM and bring you cash." He says ok. So I do that, maybe 2min go by and then Im back outside and this muthafukka is nowhere to be found. I think, oh he mustve had to circle the block and couldnt sit but then I noticed that this entire lane is for taxis so he wouldnt have had to move. I know this nikka really drove off with my bags and laptop. I go inside to talk to the doorman and he calls the cops. While he's on the phone with them, dude pulls up. Been about 10min. I bang on the door and he says "oh the cops said I had to move, I was blocking traffic" which was a lie and as I reach in to the back I see my laptop bag is in the front instead of the back where I left it and the car smells like some cologne that neither of us were wearing. I know this dude took a fukking fare with my shyt in here. He pops the trunk and is saying some other shyt as he hands me my two travel bags out the trunk then he stands there like he waiting. My doorman is already outside and putting my bags on the cart for me so my hands are free when I noticed he still standing there with an expectant posture so I square off, check my spacing and tell him "You stole my muthafukkin bags dude you lucky to get beat out your fare than your shoes. You fukked up."
