Honestly the reactions to this are good examples of why I’m not sold. Brehs acting like a good preseason performance is worth celebrating on some regular season type shyt. I like that he said it wasn’t a perfect performance and he needs to work on stuff. The stans need to get the memo. And yes I understand if he shat the bed in that game, the haters would say “I told you so.”

He wasn’t “set up” to fail like SAS’ dumb ass said but best believe if he struggles next week - even on some normal rookie shyt - it’s gonna get over hyped. No one should want Cowboys-style hyper media coverage. You guys welcoming this shyt is gonna backfire.
That's exactly where I'm at with it. He had a solid debut. I didn't see anything that tells me he's some kind of dominant QB being held back or like he's ready to take over and kill it. I think some of the teams that passed on him are dumb as hell for sure. But the way some of his fans are hyping this performance is insane to me. It's the overhyping that's lead to a lot of the backlash.

Just say you're one the haters we are talking about. You will never be sold cause you want him to fail.

There is no such thing as a perfect performance. He is a rookie, of course he needs to work on stuff. what kinda of comment is that. He did everything and MORE than what you would expect a 1st round pick to look like in the preseason. But he was 5th round pick. So he far exceeded the expectation of a 5th round pick.

There are experienced starting QB's in the league that couldn't make some of those passes he made. But if you watched him at jackson state and colorado you wouldn't be surprised at all. He has been doing it his whole career. They said he couldn't play in the big 12 after he balled out at jackson.. Now they say he couldnt play in the nfl after he balled out at colorado. He has been here before. And his talent and accuracy is undeniable. We are not talking about some unknown prospect balling out in preseason unexpectedly. This is the big 12 offensive player of the year. This is the guy prior to the draft was considered a top 3 QB in his class. He is who we thought he was.

SAS was right. He succeeded despite being setup to fail. Owner said he didnt even want him there. He hasnt been getting 1st or 2nd team reps. His coach has not sounded enthusiastic about him at all even after his performance Friday. Browns were definitely going to cut him if he had played poorly or if dillon and picket were not hurt and played most of that game as originally intended.

And on top of that we are talking about the Browns. Not some organization known for excellence, competence, and QB development. Flacco, picket and dillion gabriel are not leagues above him. We don't know where his ceiling is.. but we do know he is just as good or better than any QB currently on the Browns roster and has a higher ceiling than all of them.

No point in celebrating this early. Gabriel is probably going to get a lot of time the next game so Shedeur has to outduel him. They're not trying to let that 3rd round pick go to waste so if they both look good it's back to square one.

Still a chance Shedeur or Pickett gets traded.

I've been critical of Sanders. My issue is that the people who roll their eyes at his preseason performance would have 100% took a poor performance at face value and used it to criticize him, and Im not buying anything anyone of the, "It was just preseason," wave is selling if they're claiming that they wouldn't.

If we can critique him when he doesn't play well, why is it so offensive that people can glean positives from his performance when he does perform?

This is a common theme with his most vocal detractors. Hedging your bet and only wanting to get into the weeds if this thing plays out one way. It's transparent and corny.

The problem ain't gleaning positives from his performance. It's people using this one game as proof that he's a future all-pro and like he's already proved all the GMs who didn't draft him wrong. Also wouldn't be a problem if people didn't ignore the negatives he showed as well.

I personally thought he looked like he belonged as a QB on an NFL field and deserves a chance to prove himself.

I mean he don’t have to play right now lol. They have like 10 quarterbacks. He did his thing in the Panthers game. I’m sure they want to see what Gabriel got. You don’t want him starting week 1 anyway :yeshrug:

If it was a white QB, your funky ass would say the opposite. If he threw two picks instead of two TDs, you would be loud than a muthafukka right now. That's why I don't take you fakkits seriously. If he does good or bad, there will always be hating going on.
