Definitely overkill :mjlol:

I don't know, maybe he should've said something along the lines of being the “most polarizing man in sports since _____” :manny:.

Saying he's the most powerful Black man doesn't equate to his position as a football player, it's one thing if this statement was made in regards to a politician, activist, leader, etc.

He is not imo but he is not far off. Our society worships entertainers for better or worse. SAS talking about running for president. Same thing with the Rock. Michelle Obama would rather be a low level gossip podcaster than just the first lady. Entertainers have way more power and influence than yall care to admit. Especially with black folks. I hate NBA youngboy but I would be a fool to think he don't got the youth in a chokehold and is one of the most powerful (and negative) influences on them.

Trump was an entertainer and reality show star turned president. I hate Trump but when was the last time the sitting president was commenting on a 5th round rookie in their first start. I would love to see folks post a top 10 most influential black men without listing any black athletes, music artist, or entertainers.

I'm just glad all the Black celebrities just all of a sudden stopped showing up to Colorado games:pachaha:

We got WAAAAYYYY more important shít to rally around than some shít as trivial as sports. Like it or not, white men run these leagues and college athletics. We are just the "workers" here to entertain and we better not say the wrong shít and "fall in line"

I don't even use the phrase "Black excellence" in regards to sports. I'm saving that for our Black banks, Black hospitals, Black inventors, etc.

Jordan's 6 rings nor Lebron's scoring record has "advanced" us as a ppl. They are just dope accomplishments in their field. We still remain one of, if not the lowest earning groups in the U.S.

Colin Kaepernick had half the country kneeing with him, and the other half tight af about it. Shedeur is my guy, but all he did was win a football game against another shytty team. He's gonna have to bring the damn Browns to the Superbowl to have that kind of impact. I'm mad I even entertained Kendrick Perkins' big dumb ass.
