What’s the point of asking him this question, especially today with whom they played?

He isn’t the first nor be the last player to ask a team not to draft them because it doesn’t benefit said player.
Who was the last player to ask a team to not draft them?

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
I’m calling cap.

This information was held for 5 months since the draft and didn’t leak?

Let’s say this is true; the Ravens have a top 3 QB in the league and won’t need a franchise QB for years. There were at least 5 teams ahead of them who needed a franchise QB. So why would he want to go to the Ravens?

Also, a lot of y’all turn into uncle toms when it comes to the NFL. shyt is disgusting.

The only time teams call players before drafting them is in the 6th or 7th round to try to get first dibs on an undrafted free agent contract. And the last time the Ravens drafted a quarterback was in 2019, and he was the third string behind RGIII. And they picked him in the 6th round.

His response is completely juelzing as he could have easily said it wasn't true.

It is a big deal because every since the NFL draft, you'd had posters on this site and people in the media insisting that there was collusion against Shedeur to not have him be drafted, when now it's come out that he willingly turned down someone drafting him.

If he willingly turned down the Ravens, what other teams did he turn down and fall in the process?
Exactly. One of the best organizations in the league willing to draft you immediately kills the "they collectively decided to collude against him" narrative for Prime stans.

And ultimately, it was yet another calculated gamble that seems to have failed for the Sanders family. Learning behind a future HOF talent on a stable organization is a much better alternative than being QB3 on the Browns who will draft another QB next year anyway.

Anyway, I'm placing the blame for how poorly his draft process was handled squarely on Deion's shoulders. It's clear as day he was receiving some horrific advice from his dad. Should've just told that nikka to kick rocks and hired a real agent to prepare him for the draft.

Every report nikkas don't like is fake :mjlol:

Even if the confirm essentially comes from Shedeur himself?
That is not a confirmation. He’s refusing to speak on another team. Second, why is he even being asked questions or open to the public when he is not sniffing the field anytime soon if at all?

Jordan Love sat behind Rodgers
Rodgers sat behind Favre
Brady sat behind Bledsoe
Rivers sat behind Brees
Young sat behind Montana

If you have talent, you'll get a shot. Declining because you just want immediate playing time is not a good look.

Context matters, though. Rodgers was drafted because the Packers thought Favre was going to retire much earlier than he did, and that's eventually what caused them to finally push him out.

The Chargers thought Brees was a bust, and they effectively had Rivers sit behind him for a year more because it was just what you were supposed to do back then, and the fact that they couldn't get a deal done with Rivers until really late in training camp. In fact, Brees randomly having two good seasons on his way out was seen as complicating things.

Part of Brady's story is that absolutely no one viewed as more than bench depth in the draft process, and it took Bledsoe nearly getting legitimately murked on field to get the job.

Steve Young was perceived to be a bust due to going to the USFL, then the NFL and being mid to start his career, this being a backup until the Montana got hurt, and even then, I think he still got temporarily benched.

None of those cases are the same as this, where a team allegedly approached him to be drafted behind a guy in his prime that they have absolutely no plans of moving on from any time soon. You really can't fault someone for wanting a situation where they have what seems to be a more realistic path to meaningful playing time.

Excellent question. At least this one finally deads the stupid ass narrative of teams colluding against Shedeur and the high profile people making the same claims as well :mjlol:

Let’s see if Coli Shedeur stans acknowledge this thread or avoid altogether.

It’s stupid on Shedeur’s part because he could have learned from a QB who had questionable mechanics and play coming out of college and turned it into MVP caliber play.

He’ll get a shot in Cleveland at some this season IMO, but at what expense?

Hey dumb dumb. It don’t matter which team it was talkin about drafting him in the 5th rd. He was not a 5th rd player. It ain’t a person on earth including his momma that had Tyler shough rated higher than shaduer going into the draft.

I think he should've let the Ravens draft him. I literally said he would've been better off. I think him being on the Browns is the absolute worst outcome so far.

I just get why he didn't want to go to a team he knows he will never be the starter for.

:yeshrug:

Plus if Lamar gets injured, he will get to play and play with better talent compared to the Browns.

This is a complete nonstory and Shefter will always be willing to carry water for the league. It was the difference between a few picks, and he might have been better off undrafted if he was drafted in the 5th round. NFL quarterback development isn't great around the league and being able to pick your team could end up saving your career. Eli didn't get dragged like this for making his demands.

Nobody knows what will happen to Sanders (I'm rooting for him) and the complete story probably isn't out yet. The league is super shady and teams are not always honest during their calls with draft picks.

Im not mad at him for this mainly because I believe he is talented enough to have a chance to at least compete for a starting spot. Thats not happening on the Ravens anytime soon since Lamar is only 28.

He would have gotten to show out in garbage time. Lamar would have wanted it for him.

This the most talked about 5th round pick ever lol…

He been moving on bad advice, it seems, for a min. People put up with antics when the talent is undeniable, kinda like they did with his pops. He comes off aloof at best and arrogant at worst…

In my mind, he’s in QB-starved Cleveland, he can’t make it past 3rd on the depth chart isn’t some conspiracy, if he was better, they’d put him out there no doubt. Cats think he just gets out there and he’s instantly better than half the league? I’m watching Cam Ward, who I feel is a better QB than him, not come in blazing the league. Sitting isn’t bad. Hell, thats partly why qb play is so poor. You start guys before they’re “ready”…

Dudes think because he got his jersey retired at Colorado, and his last name means he’s gonna be some sure-fire thing. If you watched them games, dude was struggling against some of the better talent they played. I’m not trying to hate, I’m just trying to make sense of how dudes on here think. We’ll see if all this was worth it. Getting a “shot” this year may not be the best thing but :manny: yall got it
