Its more of a metropolis, without question. But with that comes the cons of being a metropolis. Cartegena has enough of what you would want from a big city without the hangups of one. Medellin is too much like every other city. Plus you get the large afro columbian experience (not just population) and the beach. Hang out in Getsemani and start your night at Plaza De La Trinidad breh, trust me.
