Why would it matter how you see yourself? Again,you can identify as a fish if you want to. If the cop assumes your are threatening criminal because you look black then his racism could cause you irreversible harm or death while violating your rights.

That's fair, but I still maintain cacs should not have the final say in who is what. I'm proud to be black and no cac will ever change that. Racial identify is potentially correlated with mental well-being (confused/tragic mulatto for example).

Not trying to race bait with this one, but perhaps it's really time we let biracial people decide their own identities and stop projecting a black identity on people who genuinely *might* think otherwise. I just had this discussion earlier on another platform. People think of blackness as an badge of honor so they place honorably black on people or feel like its dishonoring someone to deny them of their blackness.

You are what you are. If you black, youre black. If you're white, youre white. If you're half of each youre grey or biracial lol. I dont claim off-white folks as black. It's intellectual dishonest. You also dont earn blackness. It's inherited whether you appreciate it or not.
