Chip Kelly and the front office knew these questions would persist when they decided to release game-breaking wide receiver DeSean Jackson last March.

Is the Eagles' offense as dangerous without Jackson? Is the club ultimately better off without him?

Those questions surfaced again following Sunday's 24-14 loss to the Seahawks. The team's three top wideouts — Jeremy Maclin, Jordan Matthews and Riley Cooper — together finished with only eight catches for 57 yards. Quarterback Mark Sanchez passed for just 96 yards and Seattle's vaunted secondary, which boasts three Pro Bowlers among its four starters, lived up to the hype.

And cornerback Richard Sherman said the offense is not as explosive without Jackson split out wide.

"I think they miss him tremendously," Sherman said, per Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer. "He was an incredible player, and he's still a threat in this league. You can tell by the things he is doing out there in Washington. He either leads the league or he's up there in explosive plays — 40-plus and things like that."

He's right. Now with Washington, Jackson has a league-leading 10 receptions for 40 yards or more, and his 20 yards per catch are also tops in the NFL.

The Eagles' new No. 1 receiver, Maclin, has thrived since Jackson left and has more receptions, receiving yards and twice as many touchdowns as his former teammate. But Sherman, who McLane rightly noted is a long-time friend of Jackson's, says Philly's big-play potential just isn't the same.

"A player like that, a defense has to account for," Sherman said, via McLane. "You have to be worried about where he is at all times. Right now, we can stand up across the board and play."

They suck with or without him. Their defense isn't good enough to make up for foles/Sanchez at qb

This storyline really starting to get old....
We still have Mark Sanchez at QB,
We still have two cornerbacks that are just trash cans with wheels,
We have Clay Matthews little brother starting on our defense.

There are a lot more problems on this team than just Desean Jackson
But yall quick to blow smoke up the "Look how bad the Saints are without Darren Sproles" hype.

Of course they arent as dangerous without a threat like Jackson. You lose a guy with his explosiveness and speed and you are bound to lose something from your offense.
