This is exactly it. From a business standpoint Goodell has been an amazing commish. He took what Tags set in place then dominated the competition. It's a 12 month sport now. They have people watching local workouts in anticipation of the draft over watching actual games in the other leagues. The cat is smart. People just want a villain and the owners got the perfect dude to block all of the noise for them.

Edit: If this came from the fukking rules committee then Sherman is even fukking dumber for saying it. Why don't he go get in Paul Allen's face about this?

Yeah, this point is stupid. Sure players should be considered, but I don't need to be nice at a sport to create the rules.
