That's a fairy tale. In real life, women are like pets. Like a talking pet that you have sex with (but it's not weird though ). You not going to get a new puppy if you broke and can't feed it? That's fukked up. The puppy is going to starve and eventually it would rather be with someone that got food instead of starving with you. You not going to get a puppy and you got no house. Isnt that why all men strive to be successful? To have access to the best things in life?; Cars, houses, and yes, women. The way i see it, its nature at its most pure, so accept it and strive to be succesful so you can have access to those women and stop being bitter that she didnt choose to spend her friday nights with you in your childhood bedroom.

Hypergamy was still a common practice in most of these societies. Wealthy men could accumulate women much easier because of the life he could provide for them.

Most women did not come from a family where there would be any wealth to share, so the ideal situation for her would be to find a man that had resources and that could take care of her.
