@noondawg interesting to hear the story of the early days. it is weird to think about how digital underground was created because at 25 years old, shock thought he was an over the hill rapper.

R.I.P. Shock G, This one caught me off guard and immediately made me revisit lots of D.U + affiliates material

This death is one of the hardest hitting deaths I've ever experienced.

The one thing that stands out in my mind is when Shock ripped Bob Davis a new a$$hole(pause) for disrespecting and downplaying the accomplishments of George Clinton and the P-Funk Mob. For that, Shock gets my eternal respect.

If you are speaking personally it's just which artist spoke to you more. I agree, I bought almost every DU album, I listened to DMX's first album didn't like it and never actively checked for him again. Regardless, it's brothers who made a big impression in this Hip Hop culture who deserve to be recognized for their accomplishments.
