I bought my Wife two pairs of Christian Louboutin back in ‘18.
:francis:
Red Bottoms were a thing and I thought she would look sexy in them. Ask me how many times she has worn them.
:mjcry:
Twice and I think she hasn’t worn one of the pair.
:martin:
Never again. She bought me some Gucci loafers and a belt. I rock the belt 8 times a year and the loafers once a month.
:pachaha:
I’m not built for good shyt. Ask me how many times I’ve cleaned my shoes. Before her, I had five pairs of shoes. Four casual and one for working out. Our first date I had some dirty white Aldo’s on. I think the dirt is character. She still talks shyt about them shoes to this day. She say only Haitians wear white shoes (she’s from Miami).
:picard:
I’d rock them right now if I had them. It’s the Belizean blood in me.
:mjlol:
I'm not either. The only time I spent big money was for a Kobe authentic jersey the year he won MVP. It had just been announced like a year before and I was in LA at the time so copped. That joint was like $250. That was 2008. I still to this day never rocked it cause I was too worried it'd get fukked up or I'd have to go up somebody's head if they spilled something on me.

My most expensive personal clothing purchase was the 6 rings Jordan’s. I felt it then. I still am ashamed now.
:snoop:
I’ve always had a little itch for Jordan’s due to my childhood. We could only afford team Jordan’s from the Navy base. My pops bought me a pair back in ‘98. I didn’t know there was a difference.
:francis:
The six rings and Jordan 1’s are the only pairs I’ve bought. I do want some Jordan 17’s though.

To stunt, to showout, to look important?:ld:
When wealthy people buy that stuff it’s trivial to them. When poor and middle class people buy that stuff it contributes to putting them in a bad place financially. It doesn’t even make sense at a basic level to spend your money on overpriced consumer goods that will cause you financial stress because somebody else buys it and it’s nothing to them.

Can't ignore two other factors. Men buy a lot of that stuff to try and get women since a lot of women will see the name brands and assume the dude is balling. I always tell my female friends that even if he has a good paying job it shows he's likely bad with money by rocking a lot of the "luxury" items.

The other is that women love to stunt on each other. What easier way to stunt than point out your Gucci bag and call another woman broke for not being able to afford one.

Same with cars. Where I've seen people get cars worth more than their yearly salary. Maybe I'm too picky but anytime I see a woman flaunting all that stuff it's an immediate turn off for me.

Naw.

Poor/middle class spend the overwhelming majority of their money on essential things like clothes food, housing etc.

You can’t save your way outa poverty. Not buying a few pares of Jordans isn’t gonna change a persons economic situation much.
