he knows english. a large portion of athletes use translators specifically for understanding questions and properly answering...not just for translating words. The same reason Sammy Sosa had a translator in court for example. I'm certain he can go thru day to day life without a translator, but a post game interview with unpredictable questions, yeah he might need a translator. Same way I would in mexico. I can go to mexico city without a translator but if I have to have an OFFICIAL conversation it gets dicey.
That said he's guilty asf of the gambling shyt imo
