It's shocking how this story came and went. 61 people being mowed down in Las Vegas and it's pretty much left the media's consciousness.
Because it hurts the city and it continues to do so.Also...and probably more relevant...There's no racism, terrorist, extremist finger to point. It's just straight tragedy. The Mandarin Oriental is closing because of this. MGM is suffering drastically. Other companies are rebuilding in the downtown because the block is still kinda stigmatized. Locally, it comes up everyday. While it's not constantly national news, it's a very big deal out here. However, nobody is still bleeding, so it's not leading (as the phrase goes).
This shyt got everybody and they mama a fan of our NHL team. Them making it this far in the playoffs is wild because they basically dedicated the whole season to the victims. It happened right before it started. I won't be long winded because I could talk about it all day. But you're not going to many places in the valley with #VEGASSTRONG on the marquee, t-shirts, etc. It's still a big deal.
