You made me wonder..so I watched it over and over..he had it in his hands already(pointed down).

As the other guy takes the first shot at him he ducks and turns all in one motion, and as he's turning you can see the barrel of the gun coming up and simultaneously turning with him, then becoming fully visible as his body squares up with the camera angle as he dips into the backyard.
