Are you not transparent with your kid about your financial situation?

I'd kind of expect a kid his age to ask for one gift that is within your price range.

breh, first any parent is an automatic failure if their kid isn’t into tech to some degree. And i don’t mean fukking around on Roblox.

and there’s hundreds (or more) projects a kid can build with a Pi and the cost of entry is low for a simple build. You never know what the child will want to do next after they complete a Pi build and get hyped.

Just because the parent is retarded and too lazy to guide the kid thru a build doesn’t mean the kid has to skip out on learning this kinda stuff.

I don't disagree. I guess I'm just saying that I would create an interest with the little guy first and then get him the pi. It kinda sounds like you're saying throw him into the deep end :russ:

Which COULD work :ehh:

I just believe in helping him form an interest if he hasn't already shown inclination for tech.

But if he's shown that he's already interested in the field, get him a pi and more :wow:

throw him a little Pi build that will keep him occupied for a couple of days and then see what happens.

but it’s a “cheap” gift that can go a long way down the line

Damn they really want that shyt? My nephew turned 7 last month. I bought him a Lego crocodile set. You'd think I bought him the moon, he was so happy. He's going to expect me to buy him big things in 3 or 4 years time? They really do grow up quick don't they :picard:
