My hair isn't this long yet though. But like this.

Around this length but a bit longer. Same fade and everything but the beard. I'm babyface . My shyt still growing.

I started out with just a Afro with a drop fade and kinda just let it do it's own thing.

So in Orlando, yall dont grow dreads like they do in south Florida?

Yeah some cats do. My hair just ain't thick. Just depends on how your hair grows. Bob Marley hair wasn't thick to begin with he hand skinny natural dreads that matted together later in his life to make thicker dreads.

This is how mine are starting to look.

If you don't separate them they mat together and become thick like this.

i dont know op. im have uncles (on my dads side in particular) that still rock the "Boosie fade" and they in they early/late 50s. I've been fooling with the low taper for the longest and this year i'll be 30. If you like it and its befitting of you why bother my G?

Fact you wrote a whole essay on it means its not for you breh.

Some people can rock it some can't. I know a nikka in his thirties with the dyed hair and everything but I would look dumb if I tried that

I'm I'm my 30s and for the past year I've been rocking the fade/ Mohawk thing (like Odell Beckman without the dye)... Last year I let it get pretty high then cut it off then let it grow out again. Most of my adult life ive worn a low clean cut ceasar. My hair hasn't been this long since high school I think.

A few ppl I'm my circle halfway clown me about it but mostly I get positive feedback on it. I don't go around asking people do they "like my hair" I'm talking about compliments in general.

But those few negative (or "keeping it real" mfs) have told me everything from:
"nikka you too old for that :stopitslime:"

"When you gon cut that shyt off yo head :russ:"

"Why you tryna look young :usure:"

"That's a lil nikka haircut :russ:"

"Are you gay? :usure:"

"I remember when your hair was neat and kept up :smugdraper:"

Now before anybody says "Why you worrying about what people say/think.."
I'm not :whoa: ...I have enough confidence self esteem and ego to brush that shyt off.... But I know sometimes my ego isn't my friend and I don't wanna wind up rocking a style that I think looks good on me while the rest of the world doesn't...

It helps that I'm a good looking dude so I've been told. :manny: and women love it. Love running their fingers through it, playing in it (I got that curly/ "are you mixed?" shyt)

Sometimes I wanna cut it off but I like the shyt so much I can't gather the strength to run the clippers over it.

Should I just realize im too old for this shyt and grow up?

do you man. I realized with a lot of my friends that once we hit a certain age they almost saw it as a right of passage to become old and washed. automatically like "who?? i never heard of him... that's kids music."
"sneakers? what are you, a teenager?"

There's a difference between coming off as a try-hard looking desperate to be young versus just doing what you like / what works for you while keeping "up" with stuff.

not saying to go throw on a wild colored emoji sweatsuit and ride around on a hoverboard but just because you're a certain age doesn't mean you have to be resigned to becoming boring either
