Serious ? Song was talked about for a good month and no doubt it would have gave at least an extra 20-30 in sales 1st week? He should have waited on that clearance .

:ohhh:

Nobody was going to buy the album just for that song, especially since it became Kendrick's song.

Would've been a dope song to have on the album, but one reason for the album's low performance is how long it had been delayed in the first place. No way to know Control would cause the firestorm that it did, so that would've just been another setback and another risk to lose sales. Plus, they had a lot of stuff set up that week that was intended to boost sales; pushing it back would've made all those other assets less valuable

If he would have not released it beforehand perhaps it would have driven more sales, but he would have had to go around saying "I got this song with Kendrick and Jay Electronica that is gonna be the talk of hip hop!", no one would have believed him. They would have thought it was a sales pitch, even though it was actually true.

If I was his team, I'd try and work one more single and then just move on to the next project. Try and have something out by the summer time next year.

i don't think more people would have went out of their way to buy the album just because an extra song available to everyone who has access to the internet can easily get.

nowadays most people buy albums to support their favorite artist. whether you add the song r not, the same core fan would have bought the album.

nah...very seriously doubt the inclusion of one already vastly overexposed track would have increased dude's sales upwards of 40% single handedly :heh:....everyone even remotely interested in the song would have had already heard it and the hoopla of the song had 0% to do with Big Sean...he would've sold the same and been roundly mocked by the hip hop internet hive mind echo chamber for the most significant portion of his album not having sh!t to do with him
