Southern California…
Why would u want to give back when these YOUNG BLACK KIDS PARENTS ARE WORST THAN THEY ARE.

Look at chicago right now and the violence... the violence is because these older black parents are not around to take care of there kids.. the parents themselves like the fathers are probably in jail, fuking around with other skanks and the momma probably got 6 other dudes and don't give a fuk..

the black community need more than some wealthy blacks to come back and help, we need self control..

This.

But at the end of the day we do need to build some type of infrastructure for our selves because other races of people ain't gonna be on our side when some shyt pops off so we all we got.

Also I'm a firm believer that if you ignore shyt or put it off to the side eventually it's gonna come spilling into your own backyard.

 breh that song and dance is so tired. let's be real, nikkas really aint about that "let's start our own businesses and support each other" type thinking. It just sounds nice and uplifting to say it. When it comes down to it nikkas really aint about that tho.

Let's say for example you got a brotha trying to setup an event or fundraiser to increase the availability of healthier foods in low income communities. If he asks for donations of say $40 and up, sure some would have no problem with that but a majority of nikkas will typically be on some :stopitslime: but if Rick Ross is hosting a party at the local club and the cover charge is $60 nikkas will still come out in droves and not give it a 2nd thought plus drinks once you get in

The successful person can try in groups, but lets be serious, many black kids don't want to aspire to be a doctor, lawyer, or a scientist, but to be a rapper that has "swag" and get bad bytches. Even kids of these successful, educated black people want to be the ratchet images of the hood cause it looks cool. I have a lot of personal stories where I know black kids that grew up in better homes than I did with a better support system of a family and still ended up in the wrong tracks, cause of peer pressure and the desperation to fit in.

nikka you trippin

if you honestly believe that smh

these lil dudes gravitate towards athletes and rappers becuase its the most known and overdone story of success they have around

everybody gets motivated from rags to riches stories
its just that image has been done over and over and over

who fault is that? not the youth

if it was more "i built this from the ground up" stories it would be different
only rags to riches story in the hood is a rapper or a drug dealer

thats not they fault

Because the shytty kids grow into shytty parents. The only way to break the cycle is to intervene and change the kids. Otherwise the cycle will continue.

I'm talking about kids from the 2-parent homes in the burbs as well. shyt, even white kids were emulating rappers back in the early 00s thanks to Eminem. Even today, out of every Obama or Neil DeGrasse Tyson, you have mad black entertainers that don't stand for shyt outside of money. Its a media thing, not just an environmental one.

Everyone should do more to help their communities, rich, poor, educated or uneducated.

exactly. there are too few educated/wealthy blacks to put this all on them. in order to have a large impact it has to be expanded to the 'not so rich and not so educated' blacks that still have a wealth of commonsense and positive guidance. there's a lot of us that may not be executives, doctors or lawyers, but have a lot of commonsense and promote productive lifestyles in a positive way just as much as successful blacks. and in most cases they are the people who are more accessible with more opportunity to make a difference in the continued growth of the black community. has to be a group effort.

Yeah we (blacks) should all do more for our communities. How is the question cause not everyone is rich or famous and regular people (myself included) may feel like we can't make much of a difference since we don't have a lot of money or influence. I'm starting to realize though that being a black male visible in the community doing good things does have an impact on the kids even if its small and you never know you may get some other people to join in.

It definitely does breh. Your time is just as valuable an asset to share as your money would be.

I disagree with that.

Most just don't want to put in the work to do those things, or don't believe they can realistically achieve those things. *Enter successful black folks...*

Yup, a community, by definition, is a group effort. Not one faction constantly giving while another faction constantly takes.
