I’d say jump to 154 and give him an easy fight to see how he looks. If he doesn’t look dominant hang it up. We’ve seen fighters in the past weight drain too much and look way different when moving up. With that said is corner should watch close for any slippage and if they see any hang it up. Shouldn’t consider a Crawford rematch for at least another year. Let him build his name back up with a couple strong performances at 154 to at least build some interest in a rematch. He got outclassed so bad that I don’t see the rematch having any buzz if they rush it in December.

Probably, he won't though. The only fight that makes financial sense is the most risky one to take, a rematch.
Usually when someone is a boogeyman and gets dominated like that their marketability goes way down (ie: Wilder)
Going to 154 and fighting even bigger stronger guys for what's probably going be Spence lowest paydays in years doesn't make much sense to me
Definitely won't be low paydays...lol

Brehs face at the end was sick :scust:. Can't believe Derrick James/Father/Doctor didn't at least call it at the end of the 7th.

Nah I'd rather see him retire. Roy Jones was definitely right, I never seen someones face end up like that

Sooooo we can't give Crawford that much credit for beating a clearly disheveled opponent

It's one loss. A bad beating but one loss nevertheless. Dude is just one fight removed from the best he ever looked against Ugas.
We found out what we had to "who's better between him and Bud" but as things stand dude is still the number 2 welter and he's still present on some P4P lists too.

He should at least wait and see if he's damaged goods or not after the last fight. If he's not then I don't see why couldn't he beat up the dudes at 154 not named Crawford and his stablemate Mell.

Damn... you know a beating was bad when people retrospectively make shyt up about a fighter having something off about him before the fight and call for immediate retirement

Yes he should. He’s done. His aura and invincibility is tarnished. There will be plenty of hungry 154 pounders that would gladly put him out of his misery.
Like who?

I like that weightclass because they are fighting each other but as dar as elite talent goes they are lacking.
Fundora, Tszyu, Lubin, Madrimov, Mendez, Kurbanov, Murtazaliev, Ramos?
None of these are near Spence's level as things stand

I asked this question because an "alleged" doctor off of a channel called "BDA boxing" claims Spence has neurological damage from his car crash.

The question is what fight is out there for him to take it and why?

He may not even feel the full effects of the Crawford fights for another two months or so. Spence is not fighting anyone in December, right now his pride is just talking. From a medical perspective he would have to get cleared by a few specialty doctors before he could even get sanctioned to fight again.

But I also feel there is no way he will willing retire at this point, his pride/ego wont allow that to be last image of himself in the ring unless a bunch of doctors collectively advise him not to do it and it leaks out to the public. After watching the full replay of the fight several times, what did that doctor see going into the 6th that made him come into the ring?

When Spence was getting hit with a flurry of punches in the 9th, Derrick or his dad should've been standing on the ring apron with the towel, I believe had Spence survived the 9th, they would've stopped it between rounds before the 10th though.

Right now there is no public appetite for a rematch.

yes, he should but people hate when you tell other people to retire. i respect the fact that being willing to give up million dollar paydays is not something that is just easy to do, but spence was already slackjawed before the accident, he sounds so fukked up now that casual fans actually think he was high before the fight. his condition is alarming.
