i call bullshyt....:shaq2:...where's the link to story?

the train looks far enough to see the dude and stop...

1st of all I don't know if you have rode a train in NY or been on the platform but those joints come in very fast. Dude has less than 5 seconds. You also have to figure he was pushed over and was in shock. Yes he should of tried to jump but that wouldn't of meant he would of lived. As far as people saying running to the other side. The 3rd Rail is right there, if you aren't careful you will electrocute yourself to death. He was kinda in a death trap. This is why I NEVER stand next to the platform. I always stand away till the train comes. SMH @ all the people always peeking their heads down to see if the train is coming like it going to make the train come faster. You never know what crazy person is out here in the city. It's very easy to push someone over if they aren't paying attention. Sad Stroy. But they should not have put that man who is someone's father, husband and son last moments on the cover like that.

The train slowed, but a dazed and bruised Han still wound up hopelessly caught between it and the platform as it came to a halt.

what if he had ran forward while the train was slowing instead :ohhh:

Hindsight is 20/20 man. If you in that situation, time isn't on your side. Lucky the train was able to slow up but he still didn't have time. But you are correct, if he ran in the tunnel he probably could of lived. But again in that situation he just didn't have the time. Again the best thing to do is not stand by the platform. If you live in NY you would know everyone basically does it so it's the norm. But not me.

honestly, the first time I went to NYC, I was AMAZED at how fast those trains pass thru there. And people standing so close to it. I was like :wtf:

WE have a train here in Dallas and it goes literally like 15-20 mph.

Na it was unlucky in this situation. He ended up dying slower than he originally would have. Why do ppl stand close to the platform in the first place?

yea tht's true. he was an older man and probably wasn't physically capable of getting himself out of the situation.

I've seen a good number of people go into shock once when a girl get hit by a car right in front of me. Everything is going along normal then suddenly shyt gets real and everyone is like :merchant: and everything stops. So the people who were around just froze up and didn't react fast enough. You can't really tell how fast the train was going by the picture, the picture just makes it look like he could've hopped right outta there and brushed off his shoulder like :win:

I agree with what you said about not standing by the platform. I had a near death experience before where I actually had time to think this is it, "this is how my life is going to end" and ever since then I'm very careful about everything I do so I`m definitely not trying to stand next to the platform.

The trains in NYC are not that fast, they only go 40 to 45 MPH tops on flat ground. Exception is those underwater tunnels because they go downhill.

And the trains in Dallas go as high as 65 MPH breh. Yall platforms must be shorter so the operators of those trains in dallas can't come in the station fast because they will overrun the platform.

On the other side of the river in Jeresy they have Light Rail like Dallas does and the trains doesn't fly into stations either.

It is said that that is what you should do.

Sometimes because they wanna see the train, sometimes because it is that crowded.

:snoop:

As someone who as lived in NY for a decade, this is by far the worst cover ever. How did anyone approve this? Also the guy had time to take a picture but nobody was trying to help the guy get up? This is sick on so many levels. The guy ended up getting ran over and died. Whoever approved this and bought this photo should be suspended or fired.

Guy ran down the platform just to get that pic.

Word. These trains come into the station fast, especially those longer trains like the R. That train was about a second away, nobody was saving him at that point.

It's a New Yorker thing. You stand and look down the tunnel and see when the Train is coming. I remember when I 1st went to NY and saw so many people standing so close I was like :what: Then when I moved here I saw it was actually the norm. My NY friends would be like "Why you standing over there". I NEVER, I repeat, NEVER stand on the platform anymore. Sometimes you don't have a choice cause it's crowded and rush hour. Also it's a death trap riding the Train after the Yankees game, I'm shocked more people haven't been killed on that Yankee Stadium platform.

No I agree, everyone is a deer in headlights. But if you look at that photo, whoever took it was close enough to try. Again I don't want to blame anyone, but sadly there are a lot of New Yorkers that will turn a blind eye and not help if someone is in trouble. There was one Black Guy that jumped down and saved someone once who fell on the tracks I think he got a metal, so i'm not saying everyone is like this. Again I can only speak for myself but if I was close enough, I would of at least tried. I just think it's sick that he ran up and took a quick photo, the time he took to snap could of been a couple of seconds trying to help but again I don't want to blame the guy but it just seems very morbid to me. But that standing close ish is really done for me, not taking the risk:

5 years ago this guy saved someone. But watch this video and see how fast these trains be coming in. They come in FAST as hell. That's another thing, why do NYC trains come into stations so damn fast, shouldn't they come in slower than that?

Yo I got family in DMV and the DC/MD/VA subway platforms have plenty of room. I know it's smaller but I like their subway system. Even has a time to look when trains are coming:
