I have always thought that extra points should be given for really long shots. Same with FGs in football. It would make shyt more exciting. It should prolly be restricted to the last two minutes of the quarter otherwise nikkas would prolly get outta hand.

Other than it looking goofy as hell there would have to be other rule changes.

For example you cant recross half-court so you'd have to get it off within that 8sec you have to cross half-court. Also what about when a team calls a TO after a made FT and the ball is advanced past half-court?

All the current rules remain intact except that any shot made beyond half court is awarded 6 points.

why stop at the center court line then ?
make a shot from the opposing FT line count for 35

make the teams get extra 3 pts in football if they throw a td pass from their own 35 yard line
