Should I file discrimination against my former job?

I got fired and the key word was "articulate". I have a speech impediment so I have trouble speaking to people. It was a SOC job and I was a overnight guy and a client called up after a ransomware attack.

The boss was upset with me after that and fired me, the thing is I put I had a disability on the resume and I'm a member of vocational rehab as well so the job knew in advance I had a speaking issue.

So should I file with the EEOC? I know nothing about it and never sued before. I had to sign a form about litigation so I'm guessing they cover their tracks....

It was my first IT job really so I don't know if it's even worth it, it didn't pay shyt and didn't teach shyt.

Should I file or just move on and try to do better? I got hurt feelings still.

Only breh there, all white and asian.

What is SOP?

Is communicating externally a daily function of your job?

You should probably stay away from client facing roles.

I’m swaying towards filing a complaint if you disclosed on your app and communicated the disability to HR.

TLR is really the wrong place to be posting this but it seems like you might have a case since you disclosed your disability on your resume and you were hired anyway but then again you did said you were the only black guy there so it could of been racially motivated. :francis:

They fired me for performance issues but during the exit kept on saying articulate meaning expressing. I don't know if I should ask HR for a copy of my original application or not. I don't remember what I put on when I got hired.

Also it's a very small company, maybe 10-12 people max in the whole company. Very tiny...

If you have a disability and they hired you knowing that you had that disability then that is the type of thing an employment attorney; the EEOC and a State's Human Rights agency will look at. You should definitely contact an attorney and get a consultation.
