Should I Help My Former Employer With Any Request Even After a Lay-Off?

So I was laid-off last month and I had returned all of my work items that I used from them including an iPad and iPhone for work.

After that I tried to negotiate my severance agreement to extend my health insurance coverage for one more month and 3 paychecks but they denied my negotiation request due to my tenure with the company. :manny: (worth a shot)

Now they need me to send them codes to actually unlock the iPad/iPhone but I refuse to respond to their request since they didn't accommodate me, why would I accommodate them? Plus how do I know if these phones will just be given to a dude/chick that they hire to replace me? Also, I thought they can just reset the phone system with Apple or something.

Is that fair game or should I just give them the codes? :patrice:

My former employer asked me if i can help train the new guy they got for a few hours.

I said sure, at a minimum rate of $100/hr. They said, ok nvm, we'll just ask you for help if we need it.

I told them any consulting i give them will be billed at $100/hr :beli:

I had to get screwed over a couple of times to learn to stop doing shyt for free. NOTHING you do for a company should ever be for free unless you are a 1st year lawyer doing pro-bono work for a firm :pachaha:

Contract yourself out and get paid. I've been through this.

They need to pay your for your services. Your rate per hour. Minimum of 3 hours billed as well.
