When I bought it, it was like 2 weeks before sell by date so I figured I’d get to it by then now I’m looking like

In all fairness I thought the sell by date was later than it was. I didn’t see it was the 2nd till yesterday. Had I saw it a week ago or by this past Monday I woulda just threw it in the freezer

Even if the meat wasn't passed its expiration date, just having it in the fridge for 4 days is pushing it; if it was in the freezer, still frozen, then you'd be fine to keep it, cook, or whatever, but 4 days thawed out in the fridge means you should throw it out.

Meats like ground beef, chicken, turkey, etc, even if they are a long way away from their use by dates, can't stay in the fridge too long because bacteria start to grow since your fridge isn't cold enough compared to your freezer.

Sell by is not the expiration date, if it doesn't smell funny. it's probably fine. If it got a little funk to it, toss it.

now you clarify its been in the fridge for 2 weeks and you'd legitimately DIE if i gave you that same advice
