No not really, despite the Confederate Flag waving they are heavily influenced by the likes of Muddy Waters, BB King and Leadbelly. Their music was always kinda bluesy.

as much as i despise skynyrd for the dumb redneck music it is, i found something interesting. all the fox news/kkk types that love this band, i wonder if theyve ever read the lyrics to 'saturday night special'
