I liked it. Reminded me of growing up in my house. Ma would always walk the house all night and watch and creep on people in the dark. Like you would have a crack in your door and when you peek through she would already be looking through the crack in pitch dark.
Always at around 3 0 clock she would sometimes just be watching over you when you sleep in your room.
Great movie , great creep factor. It isn't scary in your typical horror sense though

Anyone looking for more horror should check out 'The Ritual' on Netflix and the 'Suspiria' remake on Prime Video. Enjoyed both of those, too and they both have some similarities to Hereditary.

Someone quote me
How scary is this? Jump scares, needles in nikkas eyes gorey? Etc
I hate horror but try to watch one if its been reviewed well
None of the above. There are maybe two or three gory scenes, but it's more psychological than anything and the psychology behind the gore is by far more unsettling than the gore itself. The horror is in the slow, uncomfortable build to the final 15 minutes, which is at that point filled with nothing but trepidation and shock. The movie works on you mentally, slowly wearing you down before hitting you with a hopeless, unrelenting wave of dread at the conclusion. You feel as helpess and confused as the protagonist, and thats why it's so effective of a horror film.
