remember actual dope musical ballads like on Crack Music or Gone but nikkas want to gas up weak unnecessary auto-tune ballads on Runaway. Weak music ballads on Devin In A New Dress and call it "ground breaking". Remember how dope it was to hear Jay and Kanye kill The Diamonds track but than got outshined by Minaj on track? Or how dope the beat fades on Heard Them Say. But now we get cuts like Hell of A Life with autotune hooks....

but let me stop cause MBDTF was so innovative and expanding for the genre of Hip HOP

The middle of the album bored the hell outta me, I wasn't feeling the album that much, but it was good music, you can't hate on good music:yeshrug:

i think it's his best. The input from Jon Brion is definitely something that pulled it all together . Not to discredit Ye from what he had to do with the album .

I think the arrangements and instrumentation are excellent. The features were on point.

I like most of his stuff , but I'd have to say the thought and overall musicality of what was going on here is the polar opposite to where Kanye finds himself now, post- MBDTF ...

Great record.

:yeshrug: In Kanye's mind this is a good thing. He says he'll never make the same album twice. I prefer LR to what he's doing now but what he doing now is still dope so :ld:

Its easily his best I think. It was such a leap forward and honestly, every song was completely unique and original with what Kanye did at the time.

He dropped Be earlier that year, and it was the soulful throwback album people wanted from Common, and then his album went completely LEFT

Its almost like MBDTF is like the dark nightmare-ish sequel to it. Graduation and 808s felt like continuations of each other.

Whats crazy is that Kanye made an album like LR and it sounded like NOTHING ELSE that was being released on a major and it made him the star he is today. And now his sound has grown and evolved, but its also less focused and very preoccupied with staying "current".

LR is a classic, to answer the question

You're right man . Evolving and recreation is key . Im just starting to feel he's stripping back for the worse .

This is the only album i kept in CD changer for a year and the only reason i stop jamming it cause the CD player broke. Its so much much musically going on in that album and cohesiveness is just on point. The best sequencing on any hip hop album i have ever heard. This is a masterpiece from top to bottom. I think this album was his gift and curse, because after this he just became an image more than an artist.
