If you come from the hood, IMHO, you don't deserve to be successful then bounce - taking intellectual potential.. tax dollars, etc out of the core city. That's some selfish shyt... and some PUNK ASS shyt... like everyone in the a city is looking to rob/shoot you. Mostly thugs get popped... hardly anyone else.

Name ONE predominantly BLACK area in the states where this type of thinking has been enacted and actually works. How can you say someone doesn't deserve to be successful and provide a better life for himself, children, etc? People give back all the time, but that doesn't mean they have to live there. And as far as mostly thugs gettin popped, come to Oakland and talk to the families of all those babies that were murdered between 2012-2013, old folks and bystanders. I understand where you are coming from but to say someone doesn't "deserve" to move somewhere safer is absurd. Let's be honest, Detroit, Camden, Oakland, St Louis, Little Rock, Memphis etc aren't the safest places. If I bust my butt on my job or college, etc to provide better for self or my family, where is the argument?

That's the thing, we have WOMEN and CHILDREN in these cities who need to see something different. The thinking of these people need to change big time. I remember a couple years ago man, it was this one brother who would cook food and ride around in his truck handing out plates to homeless people. A Good Samaritan. Why did this nicca get his cap peeled in front of his wife and kids IN the hood just trying to help? Give back man, but honestly these cities aren't safe.

I agree. There is more to black problems than looking for a handout from those who are successful. Truth be told, they don't owe anyone shyt. You couldn't PAY me to live in Oakland. But if a nicca ask me for some help with uplifting, and if he is serious, it's all good. But that "keepin it real" bull is for them revolutionary niccas. I haven't lived in Oakland in near 20years.

Those keepin it real types stay broke that's the problem. I'm with you on mentoring or giving advice, but every once in a while someone hits me up on some, "I'm starting a t-shirt business or I need money for my mixtape artwork". I did both once and never again. lol I'm more in to advice and guidance now. Especially for young brothas who are into international travel.

Hell yeah those nikkas ain't shyt! I don't even like talking to nikkas like that. You have a few responsibilities in life that you HAVE to take care of. And taking care of your kids is one of them. I don't have any remorse or help for sorry nikkas who abandon their kids and show up looking for help. And these sorry ass mommas...man, the thirst that comes from them is sickening. They think it is an accomplishment to have all them damn kids and no father in the home. We are supposed to support and be proud of these sistas...Man fukk all that. Do you think poor communities would be best served with successful black role models coming back to the community to help uplift the area? Should successful blacks just focus on leaving the hood permanently. Should they habe a vacationer mindset, come to visit but live their life somewhere else?

successful black role models should come back to the community at least for inspiration for the next generation.

yeah, but there usually are good spots within the city.

but I would have no problem if people left to get something better.... but didn't leave to run and never look back. You didn't do what people normally do, you didn't something different.

I don't like that, because some people are trapped their in their city and in their mind.
