When he got over his back issues, he was playing solid defense. Love is one of the very few dudes in this league who you can't move on the block. He isn't and wasn't as bad of a defender as 98% of people made it seem.
Yes he is. He sucks on defense and the Cavs have been better defensively all year without him in the floor. Save the excuses.

Wherever nikkas need to be told on
I know, I know, we've talked ad nauseam about how the Wiggins for Love trade was prob a bad move for the Cavs but :francis:

They would've had the little homie on that rookie deal for 3 or 4 years but now they gotta pay max money to someone who is not fittin in, not possibly wanting to be there, and quite frankly not needed :francis:

Sure, if they kept Wiggins, they might not have needed to make the move for JR and Shump who are a big part of the reason they're contending for a title now but we're talking about contending for the next 5 :francis:

Don't let Love just walk but definitely try to trade him ASAP, especially if you can get some interior defense from someone else while still being able to stretch the floor on the offensive side, seriously what value did you see from Love this year...seriously :francis:

I would even take Draymond over Love :francis:

Actually the Cavs were statistically better on defense with Love on the floor during the regular season
Then why was the coach sitting Love in 4th qtrs for defensive reasons? Why were they writing articles about how Love's bad defense was hurting the team? Why have my eyes lied to me about Love not being anywhere near as good of a defender as TT? Stats without context can be very misleading. If any of you think that the Cavs are better defensively with Love than TT then you're an idiot.

Optimistic But I Got Hands Tho
Shout out to @jaguar paw

I didnt take offense to what you said, breh. Im like 60% in the know about how this salary cap thing works in the NBA. I learned some things in this thread, so that in itself made it useful

Like I said last night my bad on the personal attacks I just hear people say that the Cavs could sign someone else all the time and it drives me crazy.

They simply don't have the cap space to sign anyone else. They can only trade, draft, and/or convince free agents to take the minimum or MLE for the foreseeable future.

Love only got benched in the 4th a couple times in 75 games. I don't know why people insist on acting like it was a regular occurrence.

Thompson IS a better defender than Love. But that doesn't automatically mean that they were terrible defensively with Love in. They did just fine with him especially after the Mozgov trade.

You say "Love only got benched in the 4th for defensive reasons a couple of times" as if that doesn't contradict what you implied. Again, they were writing articles about how Love's poor defense was hurting the team.

So what are you arguing with me for? Kevin Love is a poor defensive player. He was known as a sub par defender in Minnesota before he got to Cleveland so I'm not sure why some of you are acting surprised to hear me say this. Before Mosgov got there(to cover Love's ass), the whole team was mediocre defensively because they had no one who could control the paint.

There is really no reason to let him walk. He gives them stupid depth and versatility. The only reason to even consider letting him walk is money and by all accounts Gilbert isn't worried about that. Beyond that Bron wants him there so we know Gilbert isn't gonna fukk that up. Their success without does make the trade look unnecessary but then again they are having success.
