So, let's say Marion retires. Isnt the cap hold removed?

If they dont re-sign a player, is the cap hold still in place if another team doesnt pick that player up?

Marion comes off the books.

Kyrie's extension kicks in this summer. So does Vajerao's.

Shumpert, Tristan, Dellavedova are all restricted free agents...they have cap holds.

LeBron, Love, James Jones, and Mike Miller all have player options. Not to mention JR.

Those all count as cap holds.

The Cavs can't sign anyone as a Love replacement unless they renounce bird rights. Which they won't do.

Even if they did. What stretch four is available to be signed?

Thanks for breakin that down.

In that case, they really do need to bring him back.

Also, there isnt any stretch 4s available. Plus, if there were any, they'd probably want a ridiculous contract like Orlando gave to Frye:snoop:

That's all I'm saying. My bad for launching to personal attacks.

Cavs are playing with house money. They have an insanely rich owner who will keep the money flowing because he's seeing it come back ten fold.

They can bring back LeBron, Love, Shumpert, Smith, Tristan, Delly, and Jones and still go out and get 3 new rotational pieces this summer.

They will have a vet minimum spot available because Marion is retiring.

They have their first round pick.

And they have Haywood's expiring which could net a player making + $10 million a year. All of that fits under CBA rules.

They will obviously have the highest payroll in the league but the core is still very young and they can be in place for the 2nd stage of LeBron's career.
