You also need to have a campaign that focuses on 3-4 core policies that you just hammer home.

They should run one to garner publicity and excitement but that person probably shouldnt win. They could use one so the rest of the candidates could ride the wave though

After listening to the Axelrod podcast for over an hour. I honestly think Van Jones should seriously run. He's young, smart, green energy guy, has worked on police reform for most of his adult life, willing to actually listen to republicans, coherent, etc.. I can go on. He has a white wife and that would turn off some blacks. But he has a lot of good ideas I agree with.

He's gonna get into office and be completely useless except to make boastful speeches. We basically gave the most powerful office in the land to Mike Pence, John Bolton, and Wall Street. 1 out 3 of that under the Dems was bad enough.
