I was having this argument with @5n0man in another thread and was wondering what higher learning thought are on the subject.

Agreed, but I doubt it'll happen the same way we don't have proportional representation in the House. It gives Conservatives far more of an advantage and vote power than they deserve.
Oh I agree it's not happening I'm just saying it should clearly it's very right leaning.

Not until something better comes up

I will always be shocked at how major cities can sway entire states

:dahell: that's where all the people live. Kansas is red as hell but the eastern district goes blue a lot because of KC. If Wichita was a bigger city, they might have 2 districts go blue

What do you mean something better? The popular vote is something better that is the will of the people. We damn sure arent getting anywhere close to that now.

Im not familiar with there but it's just crazy how NYC can sway a state

I would prefer instead of winner take all a system that would break up the electoral votes by district so somebody winning most of the major cities doesn't automatically win by having Texas,FL, NY, and Cali

Plus I think PR will become a state in 20 years

I dont get this why should densely populated areas be punished for being densely populated? I need someone to explain this.

Every vote will literally count with the popular vote. Once again not following the logic. You could make a strong argument that the opposite is being done with the college.

I wasn't clear

I don't trust a popular vote and the electoral college promotes the two party system with the winner take all system

I think what they do in the Britain could work with the many different parties

You still haven't really explained why you dont trust the popular vote though except that you want to punish major cities for being major cities

Really? It surely didn't sway it to Hillary this go round

What you meant to say was your shock at how meaningless states with less than 10 electoral votes can sway an entire election
