2 games in October. The season is from Nov-June.
I said over the course of 9 months. Either way its still the longest season out of the 4 sports...u cant tell me the playoffs dont drag
i like back to backs, it's a test that all good teams have to pass. what i don't like is that all the teams don't play the same amount of back to backs. over a season that's unfair. last year the rockets had 21 back to backs. this year it's the bobcats with 21 and the knicks and nuggets have 14.

I was exaggerating intentionally....the season takes forever
When did this faction start that wants every sport to be like the nfl? Is that just some recent Internet phenomenon? As a fan of the nba, I've never thought "you know, I really wanna see less games. This is entirely too much basketball." If all you watch are the "mega matchups" then cutting the season down to around 50 games isn't going to increase your viewing. You're a casual fan. Less games isn't going to increase your interest in the sport.
It's the same length as NHL and baseball they play 162 games including double-headers. There aren't that many baseball fans in the US to watch 162 games, but you don't hear anyone complaining.
How can you say the playoffs drag (where they play every two nights), but then want eliminated back to backs?
The season is right. Players are lazy; that's why you don't see the intensity like that...and the rest of the players really isn't good.
It is silly to to have an 82 game season AND four 7-game playoff rounds. It's the only sport that basically has exhibition games in the playoffs. The first round and often 
and we have seen key players go down in each of the last two seasons. Hockey is different in that every team has a shot. In the NBA Playoffs you will generally have 4 teams max with a realistic shot at the title. Cut the number of playoff teams down to 12, cut first round back to 5 or even 3 if you really wanna make it interesting, and it would be perfect. You ramp up the regular season intensity, reward teams for doing well in the regular season by offerinng top seeds byes, and you make the playoffs more interesting for the entire time. While you are at it you can start the season in December and run through the summer so that baseball doesn't hold us hostage. And oh yeah there's nothing wrong with back to backs.

They are? Is that some new shyt? As long as I can remember, in Michigan them shyts was always Tuesday and Friday. Maybe back to backs in AAU, but not real high school games.

yes throughout the year. and on top of that you might have a a few tournaments throughout the year, and you're going to have to play three or four games in as many days. and they still have to go to class.

Now that you mention it, there were the lil tourneys around Christmas that would sometimes be 3 days in a row. But even still, looking at that schedule that's definitely more back to backs than I remember.
How? By condensing the schedule or reducing the amount of games?
I personally like the 82 game season. Tho 70 isnt a bad number. I just hate when i see a team have back to backs and then get 6 days off
