Since players feel now that 82 is too much and viewers think a 7 game series is too much.

There should just be one championship team. And they hold the ring until another team challenges them and they have to accept it. When they do they get 6 months to practice and they finally play a 1 game series where the winner gets the title. It would extend careers and be more exciting plus wayyyy less injuries and the NBA can start getting PPV money.
