My Pops Forever RIP
Do you really think that the teams who make money hand over fist and dont win titles are consumed by that mentality?

I dont mean the GMs,i mean the people calling the shots.
Depending on the owner, yes. Remember, many of these owners beasted in some other field so they figure they can buy a team and beast in that world too, so in some cases sheer vanity makes them wanna be competitive like Cuban in Dallas

300 murders a year
The NBA is the only league where the best team wins every year (With the exception of injury)
Exactly. Take for instance my white sox, they go from worst in the al central to being 1st in the division for the moment, that is possible in the MLB

NBA worst to 1st never happens. You are pretty much at the mercy of the best players in the league. Some crazy idea that you can lose 60 games a year for a few years, and develop some core and be contenders after is ridiculous. Because when you peek your head from out of that bottom basement and think it's safe to come out cause the warriors and cavs are done running, you could come to the surface and have to deal with team next superteam, or next elite contender who might have gotten there via free agency and trades. Then what do you do, blow it up again?

It takes being good at all those lanes trades, free agency, draft then hope right coaching chemistry and luck gets you a title. There is no sure fire way to a title.

Teams like the Grizzlies, Clippers, Raptors are enjoying their longest run of sustained success, so it'd be a hard sell to convince them to blow it up and go back to being bottom feeders
The Knicks would kill to be in this position.

As a Wizards fan I've never been more satisfied with this team :yeshrug:. Some might say the Gilbert years, but I never really drank that kool aid. I knew something was off about him...

The Truth
You need someone to compliment Darozan if thats the direction their going in

Thing is, Lowry is not a first or even a second option. Dude is a 3rd option at best. DeMar, to me, looks like a good second option only. Good at getting to the line or hitting a midrange jumper. Dudes game is 2 dimensional at best. They remind me of the Pistons without all the pieces around them that made those Pistons a great team... Billups was the shooter, Rip was the midrange/FT guy, Prince was the 3and D guy, Ben Wallace was the defense/rebound anchor, and Sheed was the Post/x-factor.

Lowry is not that nice of a shooter, DeMar is decent as the midrange guy, I think Carroll is supposed to be the 3/D guy but not as good as Prince, Ibaka can hold the paint down but spends more time at the 3line, and Val can be the lowpost presence if he got the ball

Nah, keep it rolling. Try to flip Carroll/JV/whoever for someone who can play with Lowry/DeRozan and not compromise the entire D. See what Powell and Poetl develop into next year. Win another 50 games next season and see what happens.

LeBron gotta fall off one day.

Theres other teams that are going to be in the way by the time Bron falls off tho,you read that from a local writer.....His take was hot garbage tho,he stated Bulls had to wait 2 years to get by the Pistons and they had to wait 2 years to get by the Celtics....problem is we dont have a top 5 player to carry us like those teams had, rules are different now you can body stars anymore in the playoffs. Its been 4 years and were still not close to knocking off the favorites...

Thats a horrible rationale to keep this core together.Only thing worse than this teams performance and shrinkage in big moments is the writers and media who cover this team who do nothing but make excuses for it...We have the worst beats writers of any team.

Bunch of fakkit brown nosing spineless hacks.

The question is why do lowry and derozan just shrink come postseason.

I think Demar and Kyle regular season stats are inflated

Regular season teams is like

:ld: someone on the other team gonna get 25 pts if Derozan wants it so bad he can have it :hubie:

Then when the Offs come around they make Lowry and Demar earn those pts.. :birdman:

And they really don't have game to that level

If they max Lowry and pay Ibaka they are probably going to be limited in what other moves they can make so they need to tread lightly with what direction they are going to go in. Cause at best they are an Eastern Conference Finals team and if that's not good enough for them they have to be willing to find out if Lowry or Demar would bring them a star to make the team better than what's already out there.

You're overreacting.

LeBron is an all-time great and his shooters are on fire. It was always a longshot for the Raps to win this series. There's no guarantee in moving backwards.

Sign Lowry and Ibaka, see what trades you can make around them and DeRozan, and give it another year and see where you're at. If the team doesn't progress you can always hold a fire sale for draft picks. Letting them walk for nothing and trading everyone else from a position of weakness is a panic move.

Nah,this core has gone as far as it could, truthfully they still dont have a legit 3rd option. The only way you can tweek this roster and stay competitive is coming up off Kyle or Demar....I dont see the use spinning ur wheels in another go around of this two headed snake, when theres more than enough evidence to tell you they wont beat LeBron but they probably wont beat Giannis,PG or any other meddling teams.

This groups track record didnt just start last year or this year....2014 & 2015 still count and are permanent marks.

You sign KL and Ibaka and max out ur money on this group ur looking at a few more years in the playoffs and no contending, you have no room to move up if you sink money into these guys because it still doesnt address ur need for a 3rd scoring option.

I dont believe in re upping in something thats failing, you dont necessarily have to go backwards but you have up root the roster....

They shouldn't re-sign Lowry.

Don't know about blowing it up.
