Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Im sure masai would make another move but my point was you can re tool and dont have to tear it completely down and still be a 4-5 seed.

I just don't see the point of getting rid of Serge if you're going to trade Demar for Butler and Drummond for Jonas, you're still left over the cap with no way of improving the PF spot, outside of moving Powell who I know you love.

You really don't like Ibaka like that though? Why, he's been playing great.

You can re tool without rebuilding tho....I dont get this connection between the two moves.

They could re sign KL,let Ibaka walk, move Demar and flip jonas for Drummond.

thats not a rebuild.

If the raptors let ibaka, lowry, tucker and patterson walk they'll have 14 mil in cap space.Re tool how ?

What you suggested makes them worse

Thats pretty much the dumbest thing they could do. At least the current team gives the city something to cheer for. Fact is no one in the east is doing anything until Lebron declines. Its the NBA, whoever has the best player wins and the rest are just fighting for scraps.

Fan base up here has cooled to this team alot in 4 years of playoff shrinkage.

The crowd isnt as loud anymore and Jurassic park doesnt fill up anymore.if they keep this team by 2019 JP will have tumbleweeds flying thru.

Its not about his performance its about what hes going to want to be paid....hes a 14/8 guy whos defense has dropped off.
I dont want to pay 4/80 for that production for a guy who isnt a 3rd scoring option and is declining.

id rather do other things with that money.

Here's the problem with this though, yall aren't a FA destination and the new CBA makes it harder to sign star players.

Ibaka's defense isn't what it used to be, but it's still better than anything else you'd be able to get on the FA market. You saw what big men got last summer, now think of how many of them shoot threes and protect the basket.

So, what exactly are you going to do with the money?

Yeah blow it up and wait on the opportunity to be in position to draft the next Lebron, KD or Steph. That'll only take like 20 years or so. Sounds like a great idea.

Exactly. For most other franchises tanking isn't a horrible pivot in a franchise's future. But Toronto has had so much negative energy thrown it's way(T-mac, Vince Carter departure, Bosh, Bargnani, Colangelo, wasted picks) that they should probably ride this team out until the fanbase is tired of this Raptors team's brand of 'playoff basketball'.

Im not talking about star players tho,i said this in another thread,we can sign 2nd tier guys and get swept in the 2nd round for less money than this roster makes...id rather spend on some shooters and try to make a few trades.

My basic premise was you dont have to rebuild if you let Ibaka walk. You have some team friendly contracts you can use.

Fan base is already tired of this team...There isnt a swell of excitement this season that there was in previous years.

I mean, if you still lose in the 2nd who cares how much they spend?

If they let him walk they are gonna get passed up next year, if they bring everyone back it's still a 4-5 seed. If Ibaka is gone though I don't see how you make it work with how crappy your PF rotation is, and being over the cap. Your premise hinges on the Bulls trading you a better player, when there are other teams that would make a better offer for him.

Trades...Joseph,DeRozan,Valanciunas.

I'd let lowry walk resign ibaka & tucker, fire casey hire messina from the spurs, start joseph and get a shooter if they have the mid level or in the draft.

implement a new offensive system that moves the ball around & doesn't have derozan taking 22 foot contested mid range jumpers and so much iso.

Nah my premise was you will get something back for DD,i just used Butler as an example of situation where i think another team would be willing to trade there star player.

Theres going to be a problem when you want to implement a ball movement offense and keep Demar...I think that works better if you choose Lowry over him....Even when hes doubled and trapped high on the arc he still wants to take the shot or dribble thru it...its going to forcing a squar ethru a circle.
