Part of me is like nah that comes with the territory of declaring, they give you projections and if youre not 1st or 2nd round then stay but the other part is like why not let em back. It's not hurting the kids, the leagues, or the schools. As long as they don't hire an agent. Might as well let em come back if the school allows it and the scholarships are there.
As for the idea of guys who got drafted and don't like their spot, that's just dumb.

Why not? What exactly is the reason to prohibit it in football or basketball for that matter? If you weren't good enough to be a professional and you still have years left then what's the problem? Who exactly does it hurt. Just another one of the NCAA hypocritical, power trip rules.

As long as they don't hire an agent, then I think it's ok.

However, the idea of being allowed to go back to school because your stock fell is hilarious.

What is the issue with them hiring an agent?

It removes your amateur status. Agents buy stuff, mainly off the idea that you'll be good for it financially and given they charge agent fees. Once you get an agent, you have access to all the shyt that would otherwise get you suspended in the NCAA

I know the rules. I was asking for your reasoning for supporting them. We all know that "amateurism" is a complete sham.

Everything you said can happen just during the agent vetting process or just in general for a big time college athlete Tre. Why should guys be punished just because they tried to go pro and weren't good enough? It's nothing more than a means of keeping guys in check and punishing them for trying to capitalize on their own talents rather than having all those benefits go to the school/conferences.

They should be able to return until the moment they sign a contract to receive pay for their play. Should even be able to hire agents. Agents are simply making an investment. They provide funding for a prospect now for the percentage you'll get later. It will definitely suck for coaches who won't know how many scholarships they'll need to fill but thems the breaks
