Should we blame Popovich for the loss?

I watched the game again and i can't help but pick up on the fact that pop over-coached his team to a defeat. Dude took the momentum out when he took Duncan out early. That took away the Duncan rebound that would seal the game and eliminate the Heats.

I knew if it got to overtime, the spurs would lose because they were winded. Why take Duncan out? I know they brought in 3 point shooters but why not rely on your star and best player in the closing moments?

It's numerous factors while they didn't win including Pop taking Duncan out. But Kawhi Leonard not hitting that foul shot was just as costly too.

Yeah but that Bosh rebound would not have been possible with Duncan in there. Spo put his best players in while Pop took Duncan out as if to rest him and never put him back in until it was too late.

Its hard to point a finger at any one person or thing. Miami had a lot go right for them and the Spurs had just enough go wrong for them.

Pops questionable end game decisions were definitely part of the collapse.

imo it was the biggest part. Worst than the Manu and Leonard missed FTs. You give your best players the chance to close out Final games. Its not as if they were leading by 20 or something. Why the hell would you take Duncan out as if he needs the rest. Cause when the game is won, he can get all the rest he wants/needs.:scusthov:

He made a couple poor choices. Not fouling up 3, and getting a stop late down 1 and not taking that last timeout and getting Parker back in. It was like vinny del negro was in charge of the late game strategy instead of pop. Even if you don't want the time out initially, they had like 12 seconds left and once he saw Manu dribbling around like a mad man he should have burned the time out

Ive looked over and over again at the play Ray Allen hit 3 pointer. I have come to the realization that the only reason the defense didnt work was because Tony Parker got caught up on a screen when he was guarding Lebron on a switch. Since he got caught up, both he and Boris Diaw ran out to LEbron, leaving a lane open for Chris Bosh to go to the board and grab the rebound. If TP doesnt get caught up on the screen, Boris is able to keep Bosh off the board. We grab the rebound. End of the series. The defensive play at the end was not Pop's fault.
