Personally I think it sounds stupid af. I pretty much stopped saying it and Im glad that other black folks around me realize how stupid it sounds. We calling each other the same word that was being yelled at people being lynched, or slaves in a field. Idk how that's a term of endearment but I can't tell other people how to feel about it.

I've found myself using it less and less as I've gotten older. I never use it in front of people of other races. Younger generation can stop the use by not saying it and not letting their friends of other races say it Ole heads can't be stopped though

I do think black people need to be more aware of the history and where/when they use it. Just because you turn ****** into nikka and it's considered to be a compliment in this era doesn't change the fact it used to be a word that was meant to define us and hold us back as a race. I do use "nikka" but not as frequently as I used to. Even though nikka is supposed to be a term of endearment it can still be viewed in a negative way. I also want to say that even if black people stopped using the N word, it wouldn't have much as of a impact. It's just a word and won't change the fact that we're getting murdered in the streets for just being black.
