Should we stop using the n word and its variations?

and elsewhere. Removing it from Rap music now won't change anything. Damage is already done.

No, they don't. Some of the same people in here complaining about the usage of this word say say some of the most illogical and uneducated things I see on this board. Saying that people need to tone down on its use is one thing, and songs like "my nikka" are awkward in public settings. But aside from not using it all the time in public like @JLova said, or around other non-blacks, I see no reason to stop saying the word. All that "it will elevate us talk" is nonsense. One word is not holding us back and maybe they shouldn't use it all the time in music but people of different backgrounds call each other "slurs" all the time. It's just not part of popular culture with them. It's like how women may jokingly call their girls "my bytch" but it's not something you want other people to start doing to you. Somethings should just be kept within your community or circle. But I don't know many black people who toss around saying nikka when they're around a bunch of non-black people anyway. I don't know where you guys are at where that happens all the time. Whenever I see that it's a bunch of broke cats who don't give a fukk.
There are much bigger things to be focusing on than the usage of the n-word and the fact that it's now a central conversation speaks volumes about how people can miss the forest for the trees.
How about we say whatever we want and if anybody has a problem with it, 
The only, and I mean ONLY, reason this discussion has been taking place is because of many white people being 
at the fact that A) They get in trouble for saying it while we don't and B) A lot of their children are going around saying it and it pisses them off to hear their children talk like the people they can't stand the most. That's it. I never in my life heard black people complain about black people saying n1gga until recently. Now some have gotten this epiphany which coincidentally aligns with white people complaints? Are we suppose to ignore the obvious reason for this?

Well, you can "try" to make that a valid argument, but in reality, people, namely actual white supremacists, neo-Nazis, racists, wouldn't catch onto to replacing the n word with stupid.
