Should you focus on multiple hustles or one at a time?

Multiple if you have the stomach for it. More revenue streams the better.

Hypothetical: say someone wants to be an actor, wrestler, and rapper. Three forms of entertainment.

What should he focus on first? Should he try to apply himself in all three?

This was inspired from a Logic interview where he said that you should master your craft before you move onto another one.

You master one then branch off to others, but you will still need your base craft. Otherwise you will just be a jack of all trades with no mastery over anything. Excelling in your field will always open avenues to do other things.

This is not really a practical question though. For the average Joe working a 9-5 they should definitely look into a secondary revenue stream to supplement their income. Just takes some dedication and a certain level of management.

They all mastered one craft first, COMEDIAN, WRESTLER, ACTOR. On top of that, the other ventures all lie within ENTERTAINMENT which isnt as difficult when you make a name for yourself in one area FIRST
Wait, which craft did Gambino master first? He worked on everything at one time.

Become proficient in one hustle to the point where its almost automatic, then move onto another one.

if you try to learn multiple hustles at one time you'll stretch yourself thin and you won't learn anything.

Childish Gambino, The Rock, Will Smith don't come to mind, breh?

First off, acting ain't shyt. Literally the easiest job on Earth.

While I'm not completely familiar with Donald Glover's career (I only know him from Community :manny:), I can tell you The Rock and Fresh Prince were a wrestler and rapper, respectively, who then transitioned into acting once they built a name for themselves. Will Smith landed the Fresh Prince of Bel Air without ever acting in anything. And isn't wrestling acting anyway?

In all honesty, entertainment is entertainment. If you can get in front of a crowd and entertain them in any way, you can easily add acting. Athletes, musicians, politicians... we've seen every type of celebrity also act. You think of Ludacris as an actor? He said it himself, they give him a boat load of money so now, yeah, he's an actor he guesses. :yeshrug:

What you're describing, I wouldn't call classical "multiple hustles." That's just a classic case of the rich getting richer. If you have money, it's easy to make more money. But The Rock's craft was wrestling. He mastered that then parlayed it into an acting career. Smart, since you can't wrestle forever. Prince was a rapper. That was his craft. Quincy Jones saw his charisma and decided to put him on TV. But if he never mastered his craft, we might have saw Kid and/or Play on that show instead.
