This is how the Republican Party makes inroads with black people. Just stop being the party of racists. Black people, especially older blacks, a much more conservative than the votes reflect because of the overt racism of the Republican Party. On the issues though, somewhere between 15 and 35% of Black people agree with conservative policies.

its way more than that

Yeah I was giving a conservative estimate. Socially we are conservative but fiscally, we expect safety nets like Medicare, Medicare Social Security. So in that respect, we can be some of the most progressive.

Shout out to Tim Scott:stopitslime:. I’m going to be nice and not call him a c00n, but he have very little self respect. He is right on this particular issue but he is wrong about almost everything else. This is the bear minimal he can do as the only Black senator. He also voted for other judges with horrible records.

Edit: I forgot about Booker and Harris

After a quick glance at his voting record you have a point.

Eh...not really.

There are some black folks that are conservative on religious issues (although it's exaggerated), but even if the GOP was less racist I don't think most black people would agree with the GOP on things like criminal justice or healthcare.

I think a less racist Republican Party makes a small dent into the Dem numbers. Even getting to 15-20% of the electorate changes a whole lot. It’s not even about winning the black vote. It’s about making the margin more respectable.

I don't get him. He'll do something totally on point about once every 18 months (like the speech he made about racial profiling and his experience as a black lawmaker in D.C.). Then he'll go back to the party line and you'll forget he's even there.
