:wow:Still the goat unlike Hulst and Ryan

Shuhei on Demon's Souls.

  • Produced by Japan Studio and developed by From Sofware, Shu inherited the game as president of WWS.
  • Didn't get the producer to explain the purpose of the game, what Miyazaki was trying to achieve.
  • Thought the game balance was broken as an action game when he played it as it was a pioneer of a new subgenre.
  • SCEA and SCEE passed on publishing the game, Bandai Namco and Atlus published in those markets.
  • Game became a cult hit as people played it and found its true nature.
  • Gamespot gave it Game of The Year - published by Atlus, which Shu sent to SCEA marketing who replied "OUCH".
  • From Software was already working on the sequel but they were dissatisfied in their treatment by PlayStation so declined an offer to work with them on it.
  • Bandai Namco offered them joint IP ownership if they changed the name from Demon's Souls to Dark Souls.

I’ll never forgive Shu for this. :francis:

The bold is a crazy downplay of the half a billy concord flop.:russ:

Also Sony of America and Europe are the ones who really fumbled, coulda probably had a bloodborne game again if they believed more in the overall IP at the time
Sounds like Sony Fumbled again by treating them like a whatever double A team at the time.
:manny:
At least Miyazaki aint hold a grudge or BB woulda never got made at all.

Since they own them now I'm sure a BB remaster and sequel is coming.
