He did 10 years in prison then deported. He had no choice but to reinvent himself. He got locked up when he was 21. All of his prime years wasted. He only 37 now so he can still live a full life but he never really had a chance to succeed one way or the other when he was in the states. If anything he shouldn't have signed to bad boy.

This. We can be more respected overseas when we have a bad background. All the black men I know that spent a lot of time in prison back in the day are struggling doing odd jobs to make it or living off someone else because they can't get a regular job.

More troubled black men need to do this.

Only one who got off lucky was Ma$e. I heard he had trouble in NY though, and that's why he went to ATl or something to do the preaching thing.

According to Wikipedia, his father is the current Prime Minister of Belize.

I would only hope something like that would turn him around

I think there EVENTUALLY be better options out there. As certain African countries progress, and other SA nations. But Shyne shot up a club. Not shot up people oppressing black people or anything. He shot up a nightclub. He's not the guy we should be looking at.
