I think the word shouldn’t be used at all but who am I to say anything really? It’s in all of the entertainment industry. Guys like Tekashi 69 got a pass for it for unknown reasons. I always wondered why people called Arabs or any other Muslim people “sand n****s” There are black Muslims and Arabs cause I’ve witnessed them myself. the best way to combat this(besides a front hand slap to the face proceeding to looking him dead wide eyed west african style in the eye, wishing he would do something) is make sure to say their 'respective' ethnicity slur in front of them. If they start complaining and start arguing it's not the same because they don't refer to each other as said ethnic slur, say most black folks also don't refer to themselves as nikka. Now whatever approach they want to do after that is
